A Scarborough courier who sexually exploited two teenaged girls — one of whom he coerced into sex by using her interest in a boyfriend — was sentenced Friday to a reformatory term.
Madam Justice Frances Kiteley imprisoned Glenford “Byron” Goode for two years less two days for his crimes against two women.
Goode knew that BT, now 22, wanted a relationship with a certain teen in 2003 and 2005, the judge said.
“Goode’s approach to coercing sex from her was to manipulate the interest in that boy. Goode said if she wanted to talk to the guy she had to have sex with Goode because the guy doesn’t like virgins,” Kiteley said.
“She said she didn’t want to break her virginity with Goode and didn’t want to have sex with him.”
But Goode, now 42, persisted and she relented. He then blackmailed her into silence.
The victim, who lived with her grandmother, was warned that if she revealed the sexual relationship he would say she “seduced him,” which would get her kicked out of her home, Kiteley said.
While both victims consented to having sex with Goode, that consent was voided because he was in a position of trust or authority, the judge said. Neither victim can be identified due to a publication ban.
Goode sexually exploited another woman, LN, now 26, while she was a teen who occasionally babysat Goode’s young children at his West Hill home, sometime in 2001 or 2002.
She was receiving a ride to her west end Toronto home from Goode when he “asked personal questions about her sex life and whether she gave oral sex,” Kiteley said.
During another ride home, Goode pressured LN into having sex in the backseat of his car.
Goode kept having sex with her. He cautioned her to “keep it a secret because it would look bad on both of them,” the judge said.
Goode’s lawyer Kingsley Graham accused the victims of colluding and the accused said LN’s boyfriend “provoked and promoted” the allegations against him.
Kiteley dismissed the charge of collusion, saying the victims spoke about the incidents to different people and at different times before they phoned police in 2008.
Goode, who had no prior convictions, maintained his innocence, saying neither girl was victimized.
A highly valued employee, he has worked as a driver for a courier company for auto parts since 1999 and makes $40,000 a year. He started up a business selling adult and children’s diapers over a year ago. He has three children, two sons, aged 13 and 11 and a daughter, 9.
He emigrated to Canada from Jamaica in 1987 when he was 18 and has been in a stable relationship with the same woman for 19 years.

Glendford Goode has 8 kids, not three. And for the records he is not in a stable relationship, this man has been whoring from in Jamaica. He has not changed and will never change. Cause a dog will always remain a dog.
This guy will sex even his mother. He is very experienced in manipulating teens into having sex with him.
No one knows how many kids he has – He tricked me when i was 17 I found out after i was pregnant already – Now I have a beautiful 18 year old son – with no help to him at all after all these years. Glad I choose to rise him all on my own.
God was looking over me to protect me against the bad mind he has
all these accusation against him, i believe is false. i have known him for over 18 years and i have found to be trustworthy and can be trusted around kids. i have seen him with children and he is always encouraging them into doing good. I think these people above comments are stemming from jealousy and anger, because the alledged relationship that you guys claimed to have with him did not work out. He is a responsible and respectable citizen who doesn’t deserve to be treated this way.
