Court records show the 20-year-old man charged in the beating death of a North York woman lived in the same building.

Linda Thomas, 60, was found dead on Mar. 8 in her condo on Hollywood Avenue, near Yonge Street and Sheppard Avenue. Police said she had obvious signs of trauma.

A post-mortem report confirmed the cause of death was blunt-force trauma.

Documents show Anthony Yim, who has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the case, held the same Hollywood Avenue address as Thomas.

Monday, March 26, 2012   by: SooToday.com Staff

Sault College students are raising money to help someone from afar attend the school this fall.

The students’ efforts support a partnership between the college and the World University Service of Canada (WUSC), which offers opportunities through its Support a Refugee program.

A minimum of $2,500 must be raised to qualify for a one-year sponsorship.

Members of the public can support the cause this Friday, March 30, in the college gym.

A two-hour fund-raising Zumbathon will run from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.

The entry fee is $15 and proceeds will go towards the sponsorship.
