Lennie Haye recently moved his family to Canada from the Caribbean, because he no longer felt safe in Jamaica. “We made a calculated decision to come to Vancouver and not Toronto – which we have been to – really, because we’re trying to escape from that enclave; from that set of Caribbean people that were there.”

They settled in North Vancouver. For the first time in his life, Mr. Haye says he felt different. “It was my first instance of even feeling like a black man. Before, I never even noticed I was black. I’m going down to the store and I see this woman clutching her purse and looking over her shoulder hurrying up, and I started doing the same – looking behind me, not realizing that I was the person she was feeling threatened by.”

At the beginning of April 2012, MSA-Concordia organized an election to choose a new president. The election lasted three days. Less than 70 students went to cast their ballots for the two candidates according to an article published on the MSA-Concordia website. In 2010, there were 6,000 Muslim students at Concordia according to an article published by the Link.

In his communiqué, the retiring MSA president Museb Abu-Thuraia announced that Murtaza Khan was elected and Abdel Latif Khoumaiss came second.

For years, the University administration paid in the vicinity of $15,000 a year to rent a prayer space outside the campus that had been requested by MSA-Concordia.

MSA-Concordia operates its own Islamic library (Reflections) in University premises. It is funded by the Concordia Council of Student Life. Books by authors such as Hassan al-Banna, Sayyid Qutb, Youssef Qaradawi, Syed Maududi and others are endorsed by the Muslim Brotherhood. They promote offensive jihad and sharia, they legitimize the beating of wives by their husband, they advocate the killing of apostates, etc.

MONTREAL – A university student identified as the victim of a gruesome killing and dismemberment is being described by his boss as a model employee who never missed a shift — until last Friday.

The owner of a Montreal convenience store says Jun Lin was a responsible, polite cashier who worked around 10 hours per week.

Police have launched an international manhunt for a porn actor named Luka Rocco Magnotta in connection with Lin’s death late last week.

Lin’s employer, Kankan Huang, says he knew something was amiss when the 33-year-old didn’t show up for work last week.

He says Lin had never missed a shift since he was hired last August.

The visibly shaken store owner says he was shocked this morning when he read the news about his clerk’s death.

Huang says he’s still holding out hope there’s been a mistake and that Lin is still alive.

Said Namouh was ordered deported under a criminal conviction that was not related to terrorism.

Said Namouh is an unrepentant terrorist. From his apartment in Quebec, he spread al-Qaeda propaganda over the Internet and posted anonymous messages threatening the West with “slaughter” and urging violence until “religion will be for Allah alone.”

A Quebec court convicted him in 2009 of four counts under the Anti-Terrorism Act, including participation in a terrorist group, extortion of a foreign government and plotting a bomb attack with a co-conspirator in Europe.

Once he has served his federal prison time, Canada intends to deport him back to his native Morocco. But now Namouh is quietly asking Ottawa to let him stay on “humanitarian and compassionate” grounds.
