Investigators are hot on the heels of several bandits wanted for three separate robberies — two of which are connected.

Toronto Police investigators say all they need is some help from the public to track them down.

New legislation introduced today by Immigration Minister Jason Kenney will crack down on foreign criminals who delay extradition to their home countries by utilizing Canada’s lengthy appeals system, and make it easier for the government to deport them.

New legislation introduced today by Immigration Minister Jason Kenney will crack down on foreign criminals who delay deportation to their home countries by utilizing Canada’s lengthy appeals system, and make it easier for the government to deport them.

The new laws will limit the access foreign criminals will have to the Immigration and Refugee Board’s Appeal division, thereby reducing the time they can remain in Canada by up to 14 months.

BRAMPTON – The Mississauga mother accused of killing her toddler is brought into the prisoner’s box, her long dark hair hanging limply, her dazed eyes darting around the courtroom, still shocked that she is in handcuffs.

As are we all.

A mother charged with murdering her own little girl? It defies the natural order of how things are supposed to be.

Nandini Jha, 35, was charged with second-degree murder on Monday, nine months after her three-year-old daughter Niyati died suspiciously of serious head and brain injuries. Almost a year of dogged police investigation would follow, mention of two “persons of interest”, and now, one arrest.

WINNIPEG — A Canadian man from Nepal says more than 100 people from the Asian country have been financially ruined in a scheme that promised them high-paying jobs in the Alberta oilpatch.

Bradley Jacobson and Kendall Schmidt have appeared in a Winnipeg court charged with various offences under the Criminal Code and Refugee Protection Act.

Jacobson was a member of the Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council.
