Canada has had examples in the past of allowing criminals to migrate here, victimizing Canadians and legitimate immigrants. Hamilton and the GTA were victimized by human slavery, as reported by The Spectator.

Canada needs safeguards to ensure we block the doorway to those who will do harm to us (criminals and terrorists). If Canada allows a free-flowing immigration without safeguards, our country will become dangerous.

A 22-year-old Surrey man has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the fatal shooting of a convenience store employee on Christmas day.

William Andrew Whiteside made a first appearance on Friday. He remains in custody awaiting his next court date.

Mr. Whiteside is accused of shooting Alok Gupta, a 27-year-old student visitor from India, in what police believe was a robbery turned deadly. Mr. Gupta was working at the store, located in the 11000-block of 96 Avenue in Surrey, as a favour to the owners, who wished to celebrate Christmas together. Mr. Gupta was a marketing and management student at Kwantlen University College.

Mr. Whiteside is known to police, having accrued a number of other charges over the past few years, according to court records. They include assault with a weapon, assault with a weapon or causing harm and theft.
