Sean Li first heard about the gruesome murder of Concordia University student Jun Lin from his parents in Beijing, who learned of it from news reports in China.

“They’re worried for my safety here,” said Li, 22, who studies business at Toronto’s Centennial College. “They warned me, ‘Don’t go near any crowd. Finish school and come back to China.’”

Montreal: Two black men sought in deadly public space shooting outside Galeries D’Anjou

A man has died following a shooting an an east-end Montreal shopping mall.

Witnesses heard gunfire erupt outside the Galeries D’Anjou at around 6:50 p.m. and cops arrived on the scene soon after.

Police found one man bleeding outside an restaurant in the mall’s parking lot. Paramedics tried to revive him, but he later died in hospital.

The shooting occurred the parking lot, but police found a second victim inside the restaurant where he had taken refuge.

Police spokesman Jean-Pierre Braban said he suffered injuries to his upper and lower body, but will survive.

Witnesses reported seeing two black men flee the scene. Both victims are known to police.

Cops have not said whether the shooters knew the victims, or speculated on a possible motive for the attack.
