Sean Li first heard about the gruesome murder of Concordia University student Jun Lin from his parents in Beijing, who learned of it from news reports in China.
“They’re worried for my safety here,” said Li, 22, who studies business at Toronto’s Centennial College. “They warned me, ‘Don’t go near any crowd. Finish school and come back to China.’”
