Toronto police arrested and charged a man with attempted murder at a downtown shelter Sunday night.
Officers from 32 Division arrested the suspect at a homeless shelter around Peter and Queen Sts.The man was charged in connection with a Saturday morning stabbing near College St. and Spadina Ave. said Staff Sgt. Winston Bennett.
At around 11 a.m. a 32-year-old man was stabbed repeatedly in the neck and body in front of a Tim Hortons on Spadina Ave. After the attack the suspect fled, said Sgt. Bennett.
The victim was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, but is expected to recover. He has since undergone surgery.
Toronto police charged Alejandro Ernesto Solano-Aguilera, 46, with attempted murder.
He appeared in court Monday morning.
