Suspect sought in torture kidnapping

Police have put out a Canada-wide warrant for a man wanted in a vicious kidnapping for ransom earlier this month.
The victim, a man in his late 20s, was beaten and tortured for a number of hours while a $500,000 ransom was demanded, police said. The plot was foiled in a dramatic takedown the next day. Continue reading
Tattoo parlour owner jailed in torture plot

The central character in a bizarre plot to kidnap, torture and kill a man he believed had set fire to his family’s northeast Calgary tattoo business last June has been sent to prison.
Luciano Carlo Ferrazzano, 39, was sentenced on Thursday to seven years in jail, which includes credit for his guilty plea and time already served for conspiracy to kidnap and loan sharking. Continue reading
